Me and my Axolotl

A game made for the libGDX Jam 25. The strong currents have taken the eggs of your axolotl nest. Your goal is to pick all the eggs and go back to the nest. In your way, you will have to deal with the strong currents that will push you back, throwing at you the trash that selfish humans have thrown into the lake. Also, what is that? A big turtle thinks you are its lunch, so you better avoid the turtle before it eats you.

How to play:

• Use the mouse to make the axolotl steer above or below.
• Avoid the trash, it will stun you and leave you knocked for a couple of seconds.
• Avoid the turtle, it will try to eat you.
• Your axolotl, like any other axolotl, can generate parts of its body. If you survive enough, you may be able to have your arms grown again.

Additional questions:

• Why the topic? Because of the jam.
• How many games have you submit into a jam? This is my first one.
• Why the stunlock? It was fun to make it a frustrating experience.
• Why the boats? They are inspired by the typical boats that go through the Lake Xochimilco, one of the natural areas of the axolotl.
• Who are the people in the boats? I added a channel reward to my Twitch channel called "I put your name in my game" and these are the people who redeemed it while I was streaming the game development. (I was expecting to have more boat designs, but time constraints, so I only made two.)

Some axolotl facts:

• Axolotls reproduce using eggs.
• Axolotls can regenerate parts of their body, even the brains.
• Axolotls are endangered. Currently they are mostly in captive care, since some people cater to treat them as pets, but their natural habits are some lakes in Mexico, like the Lake Xochimilco.
